About

Text Tutoring is about embracing technology to make learning easier. Let’s face it – the whole world is going mobile. Rather than restricting our students from using their mobile phones, why not let them use them to learn something?

How does it work?

  • Simply fill out the form with your homework question, and you will get an answer shortly after. Answers can be sent from your computer (using email) or from your cell phone (using text messages).
  • You can also search the site to see if someone has already asked your question.
  • Please note that any question you send can be posted on our site.

How much does it cost?

  • Text Tutoring is a free service. If you want to use our service, please sign up for a Free Membership today.
  • If you send questions by text message, regular text message rates apply, as determined by your cell phone provider.
  • If you are happy with our services, please feel free to donate. Donations help pay for website and service costs.

How quickly will my questions be answered?

  • Response time can vary from 5 minutes up to 12 hours, with the average response time being under 2 hours.
  • How quickly your questions are answered depends on the nature of your question, the time of day, and how clearly the question has been communicated.

Why didn’t you answer my question?

  • You may have been sending too many similar questions. We want to help you learn, not teach you how to copy our answers for every single question. Use our helpful answers to help solve similar problems.
  • If your question is vague, confusing or not a question at all, we probably won’t respond to it.
  • Perhaps we never received your question. If you believe you have a good question, and haven’t received an answer within 24 hours, please submit it again.

How many questions can I send?

  • Students receiving free help are limited to three questions per day.
  • If you want to send more than that, please make a donation using PayPal, credit card or debit, or sign up for an hour of online whiteboard tutoring by e-mailing us.

Isn’t this like… cheating?

Is it cheating if you ask your friend or a tutor how to do a certain type of problem? No, of course not.

This site will not do all of your homework for you, but it will answer particular questions and give you good guidelines to follow for similar questions. You then of course can use it as a guide to solve other similar problems, much like the examples in every student’s textbook.

We encourage your involvement and look forward to answering your questions!

What if I have a really stupid question?

There are no stupid questions. Okay, that’s not entirely true, but as long as it’s homework related, it’s fine to ask. We all learn by asking. If you don’t understand something, you need to ask somebody!
